RM of Langenburg’s story
The Rural Municipality of Langenburg No. 181 sits in the east-central part of Saskatchewan. Its story as an organized municipality goes back to May 1, 1897, when the area was first set up as Local Improvement District No. 79.
On January 1, 1913, it was incorporated as a rural municipality. Today the RM surrounds the town of Langenburg and the village of Yarbo, and the unincorporated locality of Marchwell lies within its boundaries. The RM office is in Langenburg, where council meets on the second Thursday of each month.
Langenburg Recreation Site, a provincial recreation site, lies next to the town's soccer pitches on the south side.
